Danville Animal Control officers said they are investigating a report of a monkey spotted hiding in local trees.
Officers said the caller was not sure if the animal was a monkey or a bear.
It's been 11 years since a monkey has been spotted in New Hampshire, when several residents reported seeing a capuchin monkey.
Animal Control officials said it was extremely unlikely that a monkey would have survived that long.
