Aberdeen manager Craig Brown: "The league has a long way to go. If we were here with half a dozen games left we would be really in with an outstanding chance. "We still are, I'm not denying that. To be in touch with Celtic who are champions-elect in my book is good. But we have to get a victory on Saturday to stay where we are or at least not lose the game. "We are not going out on Saturday with the 'not lose' mentality. We are going out thinking with home support, with us being on a good run of form without being brilliant and therefore we are going to try to win the game. "I'm still convinced Celtic have the best team and the best squad so if we do it, it will be an achievement." Celtic manager Neil Lennon: "It's an important game for us. Our league form recently hasn't been great but that's not a major concern for me. "I'm sure there will be a really good crowd at Pittodrie. It will be a great atmosphere.

"It's two big Scottish teams going at it and we won't be thinking about Benfica (in the Champions League) until after the game is over. "Aberdeen have recruited well over the summer and have found consistency this season. Craig Brown is very shrewd and has great experience." Craig Brown has called for optimism amongst Aberdeen's home support to help his team beat Celtic on Saturday. And the manager believes the Pittodrie faithful only need to look at their own admirable travelling fans for inspiration. "Our away support is quite unbelievable in terms of the volume they produce," said Brown. "If the home support, in relation to the number, could produce that amount of volume, it'll be a goal of a start." Pittodrie is set to house a bumper crowd for the visit of the Scottish Premier League champions and Brown is eager to put smiles on their faces. "There's nothing more depressing for me than to see the Aberdeen support drift away unhappy from a home fixture," continued Brown.
